Personality Adaptations Or Conscious Attractions
Unconscious Attractions Invite Entanglement And Enmeshment
There are two types of attraction overall. Personality attraction draws us to people who reflect what we have denied or repressed in ourselves. These safety, security, and self-importance attractions are where we seek to complete ourselves by fighting for our independence yet expect our targets to demonstrate their need for us. Since we do not know ourselves, we attempt to capture and control our partner's interest to be meaningful to them. Conscious Attractions occur when we accept our creative nature and choose partners who are aligned and the most compatible. This requires that we do not need the approval or the acceptance of our partners and, therefore are unwilling to compromise ourselves. All conscious attractions are internal and holistic, which enhance our playfulness, passion, and ability to respond to others. Conscious Attractions are where we creatively align with one another to serve some larger creative purpose.
Conscious Attractions bond us on three levels, while unconscious attractions create comparison, competition, and merging. What we are left in Personality relationships is isolation, separation, and insulation. We see this when we avoid closeness, promote quid-pro-quo exchanges, and keep ourselves from getting too involved. Personality attractions maximize scarcity, conflict, and needs because it is all about who deserves the benefits. This generates resentment because we cannot both be the number one benefactor. All unconscious Attractions are externalized in terms of our Attachment to appearance and beauty, positions of power, confidence, and success, and the need for our partner to promote our personality importance. Conscious attractions promote cooperation and communion through the mutual interest in sharing Life, Light, and Love energies.
Personality attractions are automatic and pre-programmed activities. We feel compelled in extreme circumstances. The unconscious patterns can be further refined into packaging the Attractions such as sexiness, smarts, or reliability; presentation qualities such as innocence, strength, or personal independence; and common desires such as seeking creative acceptance, avoiding personality rejection, and personal promises of intimacy. We can identify dualistic, co-dependent attractions on Instinctive, Intellectual, and Idealized Levels, while Conscious Attractions are intuitive, autonomous choices that come together as mutual decisions. They uplift and enhance us and support us in understanding and addressing our lessons.
Unconscious attractions are based on providing what we can while seeking what we internally deny. Disowned safety fears and security desires are the source of unconscious personality attraction. Typically, we either ignore the situation or become confused whenever we cannot affirm and acquire what we want. Personality attractions produce distortions in what we look like, how we present ourselves, and what we think is good, so we can be superior. We learn to adapt to capture and keep others' interest. Our personalities generate needs that shape and define our view of others. The primary indicators of this are excitement, intensity, and romantic caretaking (defining who is most important). Challenging attractions of relative differences in social standing, playing unavailable, or acting repulsive (through bad-boy/bad-girl reactionary personas) are indicators of unconscious lessons being acted out. When we don’t accept our natural attractiveness, by seeing our inner creative beauty, we frequently fixate on outer personality appearances.
When we understand our creative nature, our Intuitive Conscious Attractions emerge in full force. They are the result of making choices and having preferences that challenge us to find aligned partners. By growing, being, and showing up, other people (if they have the awareness) can read our creative nature. This creates room for conscious choices around Attractions based on alignment, creative congruence, natural cohesion, and overlapping life contributions. Personality Attractions are fulfilled by personality desires, while Unified Conscious Attraction is the result of transpersonal desires. Instead of using personality Attractions where we need the attention, acknowledgment, and acceptance of our partners, let us shift to Unified Attractions where our connection reflects an abundant, quality choice. Autonomous Aliveness, Intimate Vulnerability, and Creative Responsiveness are the Unified self-amplifying Attractions that promote Conscious Co-Creative Relationships.
The more we know who we are as attractive qualities, the more we can use all attractions to facilitate our connection to others on deeper levels. While it helps people to be conscious of themselves, our capacity to do Radiant Self Unifying Love is based on our internal acceptance of our life contribution. Having a clear mission allows us to organize our lives with others in a way that uses Attractions naturally to support the expression of our intent, content, and context. We deepen our experience. It takes creative consciousness to recognize and experience more subtle attractions because we need to balance our internal modalities of sensations, feelings, emotions, and thoughts to see our Attractions in their entirety. In short form, Attractions teach us who we are or could be. They help us establish our authentic life lessons. We are the ones who decide which Attractions are important and therefore those we will invest in. Come and invest a little time to learn about your complete options in relationships.
